Accessibility
We want to be open and accessible to all visitors, to ensure that the maximum number of people can enjoy the interactive exhibitions and activities on offer at Science Gateway and at CERN. Here you will find information about the accessibility of our facilities and who to contact if you need to know more.
Accessible parking
A small number of accessible parking spaces are available for visitors who have a parking badge for people with disabilities . There is also a drop-off/pick-up point between the Reception building and the Auditorium.
Accessibility around Science Gateway
All CERN Science Gateway activities are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Lifts are wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities are also available.
Guided tours for families and individual visitors are accessible by all. For guided tours for groups, we will make sure the programme is compatible with any specific condition you have informed us about.
Queues may form at the entrance. If this presents a barrier, please approach a member of staff who will be able to grant you priority entry.
Borrow a wheelchair or folding stool
A wheelchair and several folding stools are available at the Reception, upon request.
Guide and assistance animals
Guide and assistance animals are welcome at Science Gateway. They should be appropriately trained, supervised and kept on a leash at all times.
Accessible resources
In exhibition areas, all video projections are subtitled, and tactile content has been specifically designed with people who have visual impairments.
Audio-descriptive content is available for a selection of exhibits via a QR code.
Additional subtitles may be available for movies shown in the Auditorium. Please ask a member of staff should you want a specific language to be displayed.
More information on the accessibility of Science Gateway can be found in French on the website of Culture Accessible.
If you have any other special requirements, please feel free to contact us.
